I am interested in how the use of computer-mediated communication can affect our interest or ability to deliberate in online public spaces. In particular, the implications of how customized and filtered online content, especially on social networking sites, affects political discourse and deliberation. I hold a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan; prior to beginning the rhetoric program, I managed digital marketing for small businesses and academic departments, including Carnegie Mellon University's Human-Computer Interaction Institute.
