I received my B.A. in English from Chatham University and my Masters in English Literature from Duquesne University. Currently, my research focuses on 18th century literature—predominantly British literature—with attention to descriptions and depictions of the natural world, particularly gardens. I am interested in exploring the ways in which gardens act as a sort of stage for practicing, hiding, and controlling social behaviors, especially in terms of colonial power in the Americas.
