PhD in Literary and Cultural Studies

I work with contemporary American literature and visual media, and have written mainly about issues of gender and sexuality, feminist histories, and pop culture. I’m particularly interested in the relationship between visual media and spectators, as well as in investigating how digital media systems are impacting consumption and production of cultural meanings about women, female embodiment, and sexuality. I received my BA in English Literature at California State University Bakersfield with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
