Area of Study

PhD in Rhetoric

My scholarly interests include environmental rhetoric, public sphere theory, rhetorics of health and medicine, and affect theory. Within these areas, my research focuses on how human and natural bodies are constructed, embodied, and deployed in discourse. My projects look at the biopolitics of disasters (climate change, pandemics, pipeline explosions) in which human bodies are at risk materially and discursively.
