Bio

My research centers on the relationship between rhetoric and mental health. Specifically, analyzing the discourse used to discuss mental health in popular media; deconstructing language and semiotics used in mainstream TV shows that use dark humor to address mental health issues; and understanding the effects of language and audience in the DSM.
