Bio

Brittany has a wide range of interests which has led her to focus on literary theory and criticism more broadly. This focus helps her to better understand the multiplicities of experience and contribute to thinking through the interaction and responses produced by media and culture. Currently, her research interests stem from contemporary creator/author-fan relationships and how these interactions are producing new ways in which we both create and understand stories. All of this work is done from an intersectional feminist understanding that seeks to center the experience of marginalized groups.

Notably, Brittany loves science-fiction, video games, comic books, art, and all things featuring non-linear story telling. She also has an affinity for making strange pop cultural references to connect the influences of the past to our modern reality.
