Bio

Seth joined CTTEC in 2018 as a Senior Manager of Business Development and Licensing. Seth manages CMU intellectual property and related licensing activities for the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering (including DSSC and CyLab), and CMU Silicon Valley with the goal of moving CMU innovations to the marketplace.

Prior to CMU, Seth spent six years managing a spectrum of industry sponsored research and technology transfer activities at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Ragin’ Cajuns). Most recently, Seth served as Associate Director of the Office of Innovation Management which advanced a portfolio of research, patent, and licensing activities largely in support of the Colleges of Science and Engineering. In particular, Seth provided contract and licensing support for the launch of the Center for Visual and Decision Informatics (CVDI), NSF’s largest I/UCRC. Seth has also served as Development Associate of Sponsored Programs, Scientific Officer of the New Iberia Research Center (large animal preclinical studies), co-/PI on industry research contracts, and in advisory roles to startup and non-profit organizations.

Seth holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Biomedical Sciences from Baylor College of Medicine. Seth began research investigating computational methods for PDEs arising in the bioscience which ultimately evolved to investigating mechanisms of aberrant gene expression in cancer development and in-silico chemogenomic approaches to drug discovery. Seth’s current research interest lies in the area of transcriptional coregulator targeting for the treatment of cancers and related orphan disease.
