Database and Compliance Manager
As Database and Compliance Manager, Gail manages the intellectual property disclosure process, including compliance reporting to sponsors, patent tracking, and database maintenance and reporting. Gail joined the CTTEC team in December 2018, after serving for nearly five years as Contracts Administrator in CMU’s Office of Sponsored Programs, where she handled the intake and review process for sponsored research agreements.
Gail holds a BA in English from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining CMU, she spent eleven years as a research systems specialist for mood-disorder studies at UPMC’s Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, gaining experience in both data analysis and issues impacting human subjects research. She also indulged her love of the arts with a five-year stint as Carnegie Museum of Art’s education department coordinator, where she figured prominently in many public lectures as the person trying to fix the A/V system.
Gail’s favorite thing about CMU is the amazing talent of the students. She’s a subscriber to the School of Drama performances and an enthusiastic member of the Host Family Program, through which she’s had the privilege of engaging with international students and joining them in their explorations of Pittsburgh.
