Latinx & Hispanic

Hispanic and Latinx individuals are often treated as a monolith, which minimizes the inherent diversity embedded in these umbrella terms. In addition to racial heterogeneity, diversity exists across a number of other factors, such as linguistic, cultural and political diversity. It can be difficult to find connections and support that understand the needs of our diverse Latinx student population, leading to feelings of isolation and loneliness.

CaPS understands the importance of access to resources that recognize and understand the many diverse intersecting needs within the Latinx/Hispanic student community at CMU. These resources are here for our students to find the support that is specific to them.
