Scotty with mask: Tartans All In everywhere

International Students

The university and OIE remain mindful about the potential impacts Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) guidance may have on our international students. The totality of SEVP guidance (issued between March 9 and July 24, 2020 and updated August 7, 2020) provides Carnegie Mellon flexibility in maintaining active SEVIS records and continuing operations that are critical in supporting F-1 students, who are an integral part of the community. U.S. immigration status or a U.S. visa is not required for students who plan on taking courses remotely from outside the U.S.

All international students should continue to review OIE’s website for the latest news and announcements, as well as a list of frequently asked questions, which is updated as new information is available.
