Financial Aid & Spring Semester Invoices

Our Enrollment Services team is available to address the unique financial needs of all CMU students regardless of where you physically reside during this academic year. Should you have an emergency need, we do have financial assistance available.

Financial Aid

Student loans for the spring 2021 semester were disbursed beginning January 25, 2021. Visit the Student Financial Services website for more information regarding federal and private loans.

The financial aid application process for the 2021-2022 academic year is now open, and students interested in applying are encouraged to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and/or CSS Profile as a first step. Visit the Student Financial Services website for information about the application process.

Student Account Refunds

If you are expecting a student account refund, we urge you to register a bank account for electronic refunding in Student Information Online (SIO) for quicker access to your funds. Visit the student account refunds webpage for more information.

The regular payment schedule for spring 2021 is as follows:

  • Spring 2021 semester and Mini-3 balances were due January 15.
  • Mini-4 balances were due March 15.

While Carnegie Mellon offers many types of student account payment options, online banking is the fastest and most convenient way to make a payment to or receive a refund from the university.
