Modified Services from Thanksgiving Break to February 8, 2021

From Thanksgiving break until February 8, 2021, the university will remain in a Modified On-Campus Services Posture, unless risk indicators trend unfavorably that would require a transition to Restricted or Essential Services only.

Thanksgiving Break to Finals (November 25 – December 22, 2020)

Students

  • Remote instruction only.
  • Practice room and studio space access is permitted with approval from the Dean.
  • Reduction in housing and dining facilities – some residential students relocate home for remainder of semester and winter break.
  • Limited shared spaces are open with modifications to support physical distancing (i.e., Cohon University Center reduced hours).
  • Daily Self-Assessment continues.

Faculty and Staff

  • Approved Return to Campus plans remain in effect. Faculty and staff not approved to return to campus should continue to work remotely.
  • Instructors may use assigned on-campus teaching and learning facilities to deliver remote instruction – classrooms will not be assigned for final assessments/exams.
  • Essential on-campus services continue.
  • Daily Self-Assessment continues.

Faculty, Staff and Students

  • Effective 11/20/20: Non-curricular, in-person gatherings and meetings are being suspended.
  • 50% of outdoor touchdown spaces (tents) removed from campus.
  • On-site research activities continue.
  • Visitors permitted subject to approval.

Post-Finals to January 22, 2021

Students

  • Winter Break – no classes.
  • Reduction in housing and dining facilities – remaining residential students relocate home for winter break.
  • In-person student activities and gatherings paused and will resume on January 4, 2021 (for students who have remained on campus or have completed a two-week quarantine following their return to campus).
  • Facilities only open to support on-campus students and essential services.
  • Daily Self-Assessment requirement paused unless listed on a Return to Campus plan.

Faculty and Staff

  • Approved Return to Campus plans remain in effect. Faculty and staff not approved to return to campus should continue to work remotely.
  • Essential on-campus services continue.
  • Daily Self-Assessment continues.

Faculty, Staff and Students

  • December 24 to January 1 are designated as Winter Break Days. CMU will be closed and non-essential personnel should not report to work.
  • 100% of outdoor touchdown spaces (tents) removed from campus.
  • On-site research activities continue.
  • Visitors permitted subject to approval.

January 23 – February 8, 2021

Students

  • Winter Break – no classes; first week of spring semester (February 1 - 5) is remote instruction only for all students.
  • De-densified housing and dining facilities – residential students begin to return and two-week quarantine/arrival testing in preparation for the spring semester (move-in by appointment starting January 23).
  • Limited shared spaces are open with modifications to support physical distancing (i.e., Cohon University Center reduced hours).
  • In-person student activities and gatherings continues (for students who have remained on campus or have completed a two-week quarantine following their return to campus).
  • Daily Self-Assessment resumes.

Faculty and Staff

  • Approved Return to Campus plans remain in effect. Faculty and staff not approved to return to campus should continue to work remotely.
  • Educational preparation for in-class instruction is permitted.
  • Academic instruction may be delivered remotely using on-campus teaching and learning facilities.
  • Essential on-campus services continue.
  • Daily Self-Assessment continues.
