Departmental Pages through the CMS
A Content Management System (CMS) separates content, or the information contained in a web page, from presentation elements such as fonts, colors, width, or placement. Through a CMS you can easily manage your content without having to know a lot about design or the html markup language.
The campus CMS is a web-based application; you'll access it through an Internet browser. The product that we chose for our CMS is called Cascade Server from the developer Hannon Hill.
We have found that our CMS runs more consistently when using Mozilla Firefox as your browser; we advise against using Internet Explorer to run the CMS. You can download Mozilla Firefox at no charge from http://www.mozilla.com/.
Please vist the Carnegie Mellon Content Management System website for details on getting started and using the CMS.
