Installation Instructions

  1. Download the license information and ISO file for Disk 1. Mount the Disk 1 ISO.
  2. The mounted ISO will appear as a DVD-ROM.
    • Windows - open the DVD run setup.exe.
    • Linux - run the following command from a terminal window: sudo ./install
  3. Select Install ANSYS Products
    IMPORTANT: DO NOT install the ANSYS License Manager from this screen at any time.
  4. Run through the install process.
  5. On the License Server Specification screen, enter the following information:
    • ANSYS Licensing Interconnect port number: 2325
    • ANSYS FlexNet port number: 1055
    • Select Number of license server machines: 1-server
    • Hostname: [See license file]
  6. Select components to install and click Next.
  7. Select configuration settings for selected applications and click Next.
    Note: You can select the option to skip this step and perform at a later time. 
  8. If prompted for the next media, download and mount the ISO matching that number. Browse to and select the newly mounted drive.
  1. Download the license information and installer file, and then extract the contents of the zip file to a new folder.
  2. Run the installation:
    • Windows - Open the extracted files and run Autorun.exe.
    • Linux - Run the following command from a terminal window: sudo ./install
  3. Select the desired component to install.
  4. Select desired install options.
  5. When prompted for license information, select I want to specify a license server and click Next.
  6. Enter the information below and complete the installer:
    • Server 1: [See license file]
    • Check "Specify server TCP/IP port number (advanced)": 1055
  1. Download the license information and installer file, and then extract the contents of the zip files to a new folder.
  2. Run the installation:
    • Windows - Open the extracted files and run Lumerical_Installer in the Lumerical_Suite folder.
    • Linux - Run the following command from a terminal window: sudo ./install
  3. Install any required components and proceed through the install.
  4. Once installed, launch Lumerical. When prompted to set up a license, choose "I have a license from Ansys".
  5. Click Go to the Licensing Setup.
  6. The license section of the software will be displayed. If it is not, open Lumerical and select the Licenses tab.
  7. Set the following options:
    • License Manager Selection: Ansys (Standard)
    • Server: [See license file]
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Click Restart Now to restart the program with the CMU license.

IMPORTANT: PrepPost must be installed before SPEOS. 

  1. Download the license information and installer file for both PrepPost and SPEOS, and then extract the contents of the zip file to a new folder.
  2. Open the extracted files and run setup.exe for PrepPost first then SPEOS.
  3. Select Install ANSYS Products. DO NOT install the ANSYS License Manager from this screen.
  4. Follow the installer prompts to complete the installation. If prompted for the license server configuration, use the information from the downloaded license file.
  1. Download the appropriate license information and installer file, and then extract the contents of the zip file to a new folder.
    • EduPack - Academic work
    • Selector - Research
  2. Open the extracted files and run setup file.
  3. Follow the prompts to complete the installation. When prompted for the license server configuration, use the information from the downloaded license file.
