Power-Up Your Course with Google Workspace

Google Workspace for Education is more than just Mail and Calendar. Check out some of our favorite resources below and learn how you can use them to enhance your students’ learning experiences.

Create Project Portfolios

Are your students working a complex project with multiple deliverables? Are they looking for a way to compile their accomplishments as they transition into careers? Consider encouraging them to create a project portfolio on Google Sites. Creating a site is free and takes just seconds. Students can develop webpages with easy-to-use templates, building blocks, widgets, and more. No programming experience required!

Sites allows students to integrate with other Google Workspace for Education products, like Drive, so that post documents, charts, presentations and other materials directly their sites.

If your students are concerned about accessing their project site after they graduate, you can assure them that they will be able to export all their data with Google Takeout.

Boost Class Participation

Sometimes, you can’t stop your students from commenting on the latest reading or assignment. But other times, you may feel like you’re pulling teeth. Try boosting class participation by creating online opportunities for discussion and collaboration.
  • Post discussion questions and encourage conversation in a Google Chat space.
  • Collect feedback, poll opinions, check in on progress and more with Google Forms.
  • Facilitate real-time brainstorming on a virtual whiteboard with Jamboard.

Collaborate Better

Whether you’re co-teaching a course, or streamlining your department’s file sharing system, Google Workspace has a solution for you.

Leverage Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to collaborate on content. Suggestions and Comments allow you to manage feedback with ease, and document outlines and summaries enable you to stay organized together.

And to help retain your course materials and enhance collaboration, request a Shared Drive with your co-teachers or your entire department. You can even download Google Drive for Desktop and manage your Shared Drive or your personal My Drive like you would any other folder on your hard drive.
