Footer Links

Footer links are displayed at the bottom of every page and can be used for providing quick and easy access to general links such as a contact email address. By default, the Carnegie Mellon Home page will always appear as the last footer link.

Footer Links

  1. Select _internal > site-config > site-config.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Locate the Footer Links section.

  4. Edit the footer links as follows:
    • Label - Type the text you wish to become the footer link. Labels should be kept short and concise.
    • Link (CMS) - If the link resides on your site (internal) click the browse icon to select the item. OR...
    • Link (external) - If the link is external insert the full URL including http://; you may also enter an email address by inserting mailto:your-email@andrew.cmu.edu.
    • Add (green plus sign) - Adds another link.
    • Delete (red minus sign) - Deletes the link.
    • Up/Down (blue arrows) - Rearranges the order of the links.
    • Placement (1/2) - Signifies that the current link is displayed as the first out of two links.
  5. Click Submit.
Note: The site-config page does not need to be published, however you will need to do a site-wide publish to make sure every page gets updated on the live site. Site-wide publishes should be done outside of regular business hours (before 9am and after 5pm).
