Larry Biegler elected to the National Academy of Engineering
Larry Biegler has been elected as member of the National Academy of Engineering for his pioneering contributions in large-scale nonlinear optimization theory and algorithms for application to process optimization, design, and control. Larry joins 68 other new members and 11 foreign associates elected for their outstanding contributions to "engineering research, practice, or education.
Election to the NAE is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. The Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon is very proud of the election of Larry Biegler to the NAE.
