Dr. Jeffrey J. Siirola joins Carnegie Mellon's Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Engineering and Public Policy as the Distinguished Service Professor of Sustainable Energy Systems

Dr. Jeffrey J. Siirola, past President of AIChE and member of the National Academy of Engineering, has joined the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon as a Distinguished Service Professor of Sustainable Energy Systems.

His appointment is a half-time position in which he will be spending the fall semester at Carnegie Mellon. Dr. Siirola will be involved in helping to teach the Chemical Process Systems Design, Chemical Product Design and Junior Seminar courses. He will also be involved in research activities of the Center for Advanced Process Decision-making (CAPD), the National Energy Technology Laboratory - Regional University Alliance (NETL-RUA) and the Department of Engineering and Public Policy in the areas of energy, sustainability and carbon capture.

He will also advise the College of Engineering in the programs on Advanced Manufacturing Partnership and Innovation in the Curriculum. We are very honored to have Dr. Jeff Siirola join us as Distinguished Service Professor of Sustainable Energy Systems.
