Jim Miller selected for the AIChE 2010 Service Award

AIChE has recognized one of its best assets in the Pittsburgh area, Prof. Jim Miller in the Department of Chemical Engineering at CMU. Specifically, Jim won a Shining Star - AIChE Volunteer of the Year Award. Each year, AIChE recognizes volunteers who have gone above and beyond the normal duties of leadership. The Local Section Committee and the Career and Education Operating Council have created the Shining Star award to recognize such individuals. AIChE solicited nominations from all Local Section officials. Jim was nominated by other members of the AIChE-Pittsburgh leadership team for his work as Local Section Vice-Chair (2006-2007), Chair (2007-2008), and Newsletter Editor (2008- ). Also, Jim serves as faculty advisor to CMU's student chapter.
