Kathryn Whitehead awarded Dean’s Early Career Fellowship

Congratulations to ChemE Associate Professor Kathryn Whitehead for receiving the College of Engineering Dean’s Early Career Fellowship. This fellowship is awarded to untenured faculty members in the College of Engineering in commemoration of their distinguished work in their individual fields. Each recipient is nominated by their department head, then chosen through thorough review of their nomination package by the CIT Review Committee.

Whitehead’s outstanding research focuses on RNA and oral protein drug delivery. Her work could potentially lead to treatments for lymphoma, multiple sclerosis, Type 1 diabetes, and gum disease.

Whitehead, along with her fellow awardees Nicolas Christin (CyLab/EPP) and Itzhaq Cohen-Karni (BME/MSE) will receive discretionary funding beginning on July 1st, 2019 for a three year period, or until they have been promoted to full professor. They will be acknowledged for their achievement with a reception on April 18th.
