Grossmann will receive an honorary doctorate from the UNL

Ignacio Grossmann will receive an honorary doctorate (Doctor Honoris Causa) from the Universidad Nacional de Litoral, Santa Fe, Argentina, on October 10.

This high distinction is due to Ignacio's widely recognized accomplishments in the development of mathematical models of optimization and innovative techniques for the solution of various problems in Process Engineering.

Announcement from the Universidad Nacional de Litoral:

The UNL will distinguish Ignacio Grossmann with the Honoris Causa. The international expert in the field of Chemical Engineering and especially the new processes of oil extraction in the United States will be distinguished with the highest distinction of the University. It will be October 10, at 16, in the CS.

Through Resolution No. 385 the Superior Council of the UNL approved the granting of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Prof. Ignacio Emilio Grossman, an international expert in the field of Chemical Engineering with close ties to this house of high studies. The delivery of the diploma will be made on October 10, at 16.00, in the premises of the Superior Council, in an act chaired by the rector of the UNL Enrique Mammarella. Ignacio Grossmann stands out in the international field of Chemical Engineering, particularly in the development of mathematical models of optimization and innovative techniques for the solution of various problems in Process Engineering, and is an expert in the new natural gas extraction processes in the United States, which is allowing that country to move from being an importer to an exporter of this hydrocarbon. In recent years he has carried out an intense work of cooperation in this area with groups from Argentina and Latin America, and in particular with researchers from the UNL, in joint projects with professors from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering who are also INTEC researchers ( UNL-Conicet).

The award of the highest distinction of the UNL to Prof. Grossmann is made at the request of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, where he recently delivered the conference "Evolution and Trends in University Education Engineering in the United States."
