Using the Robin Online Space Scheduling System

Robin is a powerful online tool that integrates with g-suite for calendaring and authentication. Robin works on a variety of platforms using a graphical interface. Follow the procedures below to get setup with Robin and reserve desks (Graduate Students ONLY) or conference rooms

Getting Setup with Robin

Robin works on a variety of platforms. See the platform specific instructions below for information on how to get Robin setup on the platform of your choice. Re-write this to be “Once you reach the Robin dashboard, see the appropriate “Making a Reservation” section below for help in using Robin.” to reserve a desk (Graduate Students ONLY) or Conference Room (Faculty ONLY)

Using the Web Dashboard

  1. Navigate to robinpowered.com and click "Sign In" in the upper right

  2. Enter the ChemE Domain info: "cheme-Carnegie-Mellon" and click continue

  3. Click Sign in with Google

  4. Select your Andrew account from the list of select other account and enter your full Andrew email address

  5. Login via the CMU Web Login page (Process your DUO request if needed)

  6. You will now see the Robin dashboard

Android App

  1. Connect to the Play Store and install the Android App for Robin (By Robin Powered, Inc)
  2. Launch the App. Enter "cheme-Carnegie-Mellon" for the domain and click continue. Then Click "Sign in with Google'

  3. Select your Andrew Account or add that account. If prompted allow Robin access to your calendar**. You should now see the Robin Dashboard. Click the "Map View Icon" in the upper right (Red Circle)

  4. At the Map View use the drop down to change from the 1st floor to A-level. You can navigate the map with gestures similar to Google maps

iOS Instructions

  1. Install the Robin (Robin Powered, Inc) app from the App Store
  2. Open the app and scroll through the intro screens

  3. Enter the Chemical Engineering Domain "cheme-Carnegie-Mellon" and click "Continue", then click "Sign in with Google"

  4. Select your account for list or enter a new account. If prompted "Trust" Robin and allow access to your calendar.

Making a Reservation with the Web Dashboard

 

  1. Starting from the Robin dashboard

  2. Use the "All Floors" dropdown to select "A-level"

  3. You should now see the A-level map. You can navigate the map similar to Google maps

  4. Desks in green are available. Desks in gray are already reserved. Desks in gray with a slash are not available. Select a green desk to bring up the desk details

  5. Click "Reserve" to reserve the desk

  6. Your desk is now reserved. You will receive and email confirming this reservation

  2. Use the floor selection dropdown to select a floor. You can navigate the map similar to Google maps

  3. Select a room (Red or Green) to bring up the space details

  4. Click "Book Meeting" to bring up the new meeting dialog. Enter all your meeting details. Start and end times must be 9:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm

  5. Add guests by email or name. All attendees must be added to the meeting for potential contact tracing.

  6. Click "Book Now" to confirm your reservation.

Making a Reservation with a Mobile Device (iOS/Android)

 

  1. At the Map View use the drop down to change from the 1st floor to A-level. You can navigate the map with gestures similar to Google maps

  2. Click on an available desk (Greed desks are available. Gray desks are not available or already reserved)

  3. To reserve the desk, click "Reserve". You will receive an email confirmation.

  1. At the Map View use the drop down to change the desired floor. You can navigate the map with gestures similar to Google maps

  2. Click on an available space (Spaces may be Red or Green). Then Click the 3-dots (meatballs) menu icon to access the event details.

  3. On the event details page, fill in all details. Time slots *must* be specified as 9:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm

  4. Add Attendees. All attendees must be added for potential contact tracing.
