CFA Student Projects Cap a Year of Creative Approaches

Pam Wigley

Several students from the College of Fine Arts (CFA) at Carnegie Mellon University shared examples of their work this academic year with members of the CFA Dean’s Council at a meeting April 15. The council, formed to help provide input and guidance to Dean Dan Martin and his leadership team, viewed the students’ work via a compilation video prior to the meeting. The featured students then were connected to the council meeting live to discuss their projects, their current endeavors and their plans for the future.

“Seeing our students’ work and hearing directly from them meant a great deal to our council members, who were enormously impressed with the range of talent and thoughtful approach to every project,” Martin said. “To know that this is just a small, representative sampling makes me proud of the students in all our CFA schools and programs.”

Heads of each school/program recommended students for inclusion in the CFA Dean’s Council meeting. Martin said he hopes for CFA to continue to highlight student work in this way and share it beyond the Dean’s Council.
