S. Andrew Smith
Born in State College, PA, to a musical family, S. Andrew Smith has spent most of his life around pianos. Early studies led him to Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Sedmara Zakarian Rutstein, and Carnegie Mellon University, where he completed a master’s degree with Enrique Graf. Adopting Pittsburgh as his home city, Smith has taught piano lessons for 16 years. He also works as an accompanist and instructor for the Eastern Area Youth Chorale, based near Pittsburgh, and is the music director for Community House Presbyterian Church. He enjoys improvising, learning challenging repertoire, and sharing his knowledge with others.
