Carnegie Mellon University

Our BS in Civil Engineering  and new BS in Environmental Engineering programs enable you to pursue your personal interests and create a space for unique exploration while earning your degree. We focus on design and teamwork and offer flexible, hands-on curriculum featuring interdisciplinary project courses with Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering students working together.

As a CEE student, you will work with Andrea Francioni Rooney for your academic advising. You will also have the opportunity to choose a faculty mentor at the end of your sophomore year, and will meet with your mentor at least once a semester to discuss research, career, and CEE specialty area interests.

Want to be part of our Civil and Environmental Engineering department?

You will apply for admission through the University and declare your major mid-semester of the second semester of your freshman year. If you would like Civil and Environmental Engineering to be your primary major, you must declare your major no later than mid-semester of your final semester sophomore year.
