Mechanics, Structures, and Materials
Masters Concentration
The Mechanics, Structures, and Materials concentration gives students skills and experience in modeling and monitoring structural system performance from the perspectives of structural and continuum mechanics and their computational aspects, and computational materials science, with application to both engineered and natural systems.
Students gain knowledge and skills to address modern challenges in modern structural engineering, monitoring, and software development, including:
• Computational mechanics for continua
• Computational mechanics for structures
• Systems Modeling
• Sensing, and Data Mining
• Probability and Estimation
• Characterization and microstructural analysis for structural materials
As a Graduate, you are able to develop and employ mathematical models of complex physical systems related to the above application areas and to perform computer simulations using these models. you also are able to interpret modeling results and make decisions based on the simulations.
