Ibekwe Awarded David A. Long Scholarship

CEE PhD student Uwakmfon Ibekwe was recently awarded a David A. Long Scholarship from the Pennsylvania Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

Ibekwe earned her undergraduate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. She is co-advised by professors  Jeanne VanBriesen and Costa Samaras and is evaluating how changing climate conditions that affect water quality in drinking water source water will affect operational decisions in drinking water systems

 “I'm truly thankful that the Pennsylvania chapter of the AWWA awarded me the David A. Long Scholarship this year," says Ibekwe. "The support this scholarship offers allows me to continue doing essential research.“

The Pennsylvania Section of the AWWA encourages study in the fields relating to the water supply industry and financially supports students who have demonstrated academic excellence and good citizenship in pursuing this goal.
