Seniors Represent College at NASEC Conference

At the invitation of the Dean of the College of Engineering, CEE seniors Stephanie Tjan and Nikita Sharma represented the college at the Seventh Naval Academy Science and Engineering Conference (NASEC). This student-run conference provides a forum in which the student participants engage in discussion and research on some of the key scientific and technical challenges facing the nation and the world.

The Science, Technology, and Sustainability conference was organized around three technical themes: Energy and Alternative Fuels, Cyber Physical Systems, and Water and Ecology. The conference provides a forum to bring together the nation's future Navy and Marine Corps officers with their peers from other colleges and universities, both civilian and military, from across the country.

Subject matter experts presented talks on the themed topics and outlines some of the challenges and open problems we face in each area. Once the talks concluded, students in teams to research the challenges associated in those themes and offer and present possible solutions to attendees.
