Harper Joins National Academy Transportation Research Board

Harper Joins National Academy Transportation Research Board PhD student Corey Harper was recently invited to join the National Academy of Engineering Transportation Research Board (TRB). Harper will serve on the TRB for three years as one of four younger members.  Researchers invited to join this standing committee are considered experts in their field and recognized as someone who can contribute valuable perspective on current issues.

Harper’s research analyzes the environmental, infrastructure and safety implications of autonomous and connected vehicles on policies and transportation systems. He is co-advised by Chris Hendrickson and Costa Samaras.

The TRB is one of seven program units of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, which provides independent, objective analysis and advice to the nation and conducts other activities to solve complex problems and inform public policy decisions.
