Kolb Awarded CEE Alumni FellowshipChelsea Kolb has been awarded the CEE Alumni Fellowship for the 2014 - 2015 academic year. Kolb graduated from the College of Saint Benedict in central Minnesota with Bachelors degrees in Mathematics and Economics. Upon completing her undergraduate studies she served in the U.S. Peace Corps and worked with rural communities in Peru to develop and improve water resources and sanitation services.
Kolb completed her Masters in the CEE department in 2014 and is continuing on to her PhD studies. Advised by Duquesne Light Professor Jeanne VanBriesen and Assistant Professor Matteo Pozzi, her research focuses on climate change adaptation for water and wastewater infrastructure systems, as part of the new Climate Change Adaptation Initiative launched this year in the Department. This new research initiative hopes to explore climate adaptation strategies for infrastructure systems, helping to make our built environment more resilient in the face of climate change.
"I am very thankful for the support of the CEE Alumni Fellowship," said Kolb. "My research would not be possible without the generosity of the CEE Department as well as the continued commitment of CMU to funding student research."
