Dzombak Wins ASCE Freese Environmental Engineering Award
Walter J. Blenko Sr. University Professor and CEE Department Head Dave Dzombak has been selected as the 2014 winner of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Simon W. Freese Environmental Engineering Award in recognition for his distinguished achievements and research in the area of water quality engineering. Dzombak will give his lecture titled, “The Water-Energy Nexus in Electric Power Production” at the 2014 ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Institute Conference in Portland, Oregon, on June 2.

Each year, ASCE selects a distinguished environmental engineer to deliver the Simon W. Freese Environmental Engineering Lecture at an ASCE society meeting. This prestigious award and lectureship was established by the Environmental Engineering Division (now the Environmental and Water Resources Institute) in 1975 and endowed by the firm of Freese & Nichols in honor of their distinguished partner Simon Wilke Freese, F.ASCE.
