Peter Adams to Present at Climate Change and Public Health Symposium

Peter Adams to Present at Climate Change and Public Health Symposium On Monday, May 19th, CEE/EPP Professor Peter Adams will present at the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) Climate Change and Public Health Symposium. The event is part of UCHD’s efforts to understand and plan for the impacts of climate change in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Adams, who is a member of CMU’s Center for Atmospheric Particle Studies (CAPS), will contribute by discussing climate change’s impacts on air pollution.

In addition to Adams, university faculty from Rutgers, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Pennsylvania will speak about the effects of climate change on allergies and asthma, temperature projections and climate issues for Pennsylvania, and the spread of infectious diseases. The program will conclude with information about Maryland’s Climate and Health Adaptation Program, presented by a representative from the Maryland Department of Health.
