CEE Alumnus Nominated for 2013 Alumni Awards

We are pleased to announce that CEE alumnus Richard T. Creech (CE ‘84) will receive the 2013 CMU Alumni Distinguished Service Award during Ceilidh Weekend this fall.

Rick is president and principal of Creech Engineers, a 50-person civil engineering, surveying, and mapping firm headquartered in Stuart, Fla. He has served in numerous roles on behalf of the university, including Board of Trustees, Dean's Leadership Council, Alumni Association Board (member and president), and Civil Engineering Advisory Board. Rick is a licensed professional engineer in Florida and North Carolina and a professional land surveyor in Florida. He was designated Engineer of the Year by the Florida Engineering Society (Treasure Coast Chapter) and FES Young Engineer of the year (Treasure Coast Chapter). He was awarded the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society award for "Outstanding Civic Contribution." Rick, a licensed pilot and an avid historian, enjoys fishing, golfing, hunting, painting, tennis, and diving. He has been married since 1984 to Jill and has two daughters, Audra and Rachelle.

The Alumni Distinguished Service Award is intended to recognize both longevity of service and consistency of service over a lifetime of dedication to the university. This award recognizes service to Carnegie Mellon University. These awards recognize volunteer service to the university or any of its alumni organizations including especially active participation in alumni or university affairs, faithful and continued effort in maintaining class, chapter, interest group or other alumni organizations, or assistance in expanding the influence and prestige of Carnegie Mellon.
