Civil and Environmental Engineering Among Most Valuable Degrees

Forbes.com recently compiled a list of the top 15 most valuable university degrees for career success and high earnings. According to their survey, environmental engineers ranked 5th with a median income of $88,6000 and civil engineering majors 6th with a median income of $90,200. 

Katie Bardaro, lead economist at compensation research firm PayScale told Forbes.com: “These aren’t majors that anyone could do. They’re hard, and these programs weed people out,” says Bardaro. “However, there is high demand for them and a low supply of people with the skills, so it drives up the labor market price.”
