Technical Opportunities Conference + Encompass  + Converge Silicon Valley Virtual Career Fair 2020 - 
This virtual fair is for Carnegie Mellon University undergraduate and graduate students of all majors and locations, who are pursuing full-time opportunities and internships.  This year, we are combining these three great events to provide endless opportunities for employers to maximize their recruiting reach at CMU and connect with students of all majors and skillsets.

This virtual career fair will occur on September 14 - 16 from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT. We are excited to announce that we will busing the virtual career fair platform, CareerEco. Please note that due to the uncertainty surrounding the current Coronavirus pandemic, the schedule may be subject to change. 

Employers with open entry-level full-time roles or internships are encouraged to attend this virtual career fair. This is a great opportunity to connect with Carnegie Mellon University students from the comfort of your own home/office for any unfilled roles spanning many functional areas. CMU students attending this fair represent all majors, functional areas, experience, and much more.

History regarding TOC, Encompass, and Converge Silicon Valley is below.

History of TOC:

For more than 40 years, the Technical Opportunities Conference (TOC) has been the largest job fair on Carnegie Mellon's campus. It is specifically focused on technical employment. This conference attracts Carnegie Mellon's engineering, computer science, and science students, and allows recruiters from more than 250 companies to personally meet talented students interested in full-time work or summer internship positions.

The TOC is sponsored by the College of Engineering and is organized every year by the student chapter of the Society of Women Engineers.

History of Encompass:

The Encompass fair is sponsored by Carnegie Mellon University's Career & Professional Development Center. It is held in the fall and spring semesters. This exciting career fair brings together arts, business, computer science, engineering, humanities, and science students in one location. Employers from all industries looking to fill numerous and varied roles are encouraged to attend Encompass. It is truly a career fair for everyone!

History of Converge Silicon:

Converge Silicon Valley is an annual recruiting and networking event sponsored by Carnegie Mellon University in Silicon Valley, which is part of CMU's College of Engineering. Typically hosted in the heart of Silicon Valley at the Computer History Museum, this event attracts graduate-level students from technical degree programs who have a variety of disciplines and interests ranging from mobility to security, data science to software engineering, product management to product design, development, entrepreneurship and more.

Registration is open in Handshake 

Past career fair registration fees must be paid in full prior to current registration approval.

TOC + Encompass + Converge Silicon Valley Virtual Career Fair Registration Fee:

$1,000 per day through September 10

Registration Includes:

  • an employer profile page showcasing your organization's unique brand
  • your own organization's exclusive chat room allowing for real-time engagement
    in group and personalized one-to-one interactions
  • 8 recruiters may attend chat sessions simultaneously
  • unlimited recruiters may have access to the candidates
  • 3 employer reps may be on camera in separate windows at the same time
  • tool to conduct video interviews (optional feature - not required)
  • tool to conduct video and/or audio broadcasts or screencast presentations to multiple attendees simultaneously (optional feature - not required)
  • multi-recruiter access to search resumes, preselect from, and capture
    resumes of registered candidates (option to create resume books)
  • unrestricted time frame to filter and export candidates' profile details and contact info
  • unlimited job postings

Virtual Career Fair Sponsorship Levels

$200 per day sponsorship (Includes logo on the landing page and premeir placement in the list of companies)
$100 per day premier placement (Your company will be listed near the top of the page in the list of companies)

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Cancellations must be emailed to Kelly McQuoid and Janet Vojtash on or before September 10, 2020 for a full refund. Cancellation requests made after September 10, 2020 for event registration, additional representative fees, and/or interview table(s) will not be refunded. 

No-Show Policy
If you register and pay, but do not attend the event, you are not entitled to transfers or refunds at any time. No-shows forfeit their entire registration fee and materials, and are not eligible to roll the registration package over to another event. To avoid being considered a no-show, please email Kelly McQuoid and Janet Vojtash and cancel no later than September 10, 2020.
