Our Programs in brief

Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT)

The MSIT is preparing the next generation of technology managers and innovators through a multidisciplinary curriculum that covers key topics in ICT, such as mobile applications, information security and networking, and software engineering, as well as critical business areas such as market planning, strategic business plan, operations and entrepreneurship.

Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MSECE)

The MSECE program provides students with a thorough background in the fundamentals of electrical or computer engineering, as well as the opportunity for in-depth specialization in some particular aspect of these fields. Upon enrollment in the department, students are given the opportunity, with the help of a faculty advisor, to choose an educational program that is consistent with their backgrounds and is best suited to their own academic goals.

Financing your studies

CMU-Africa's graduate student tuition is set by the Carnegie Institute of Technology. An academic year comprises of two semesters.

For the 2016-2017 academic year, CMU's master’s degree program tuition in the College of Engineering is $45,000. However, for African students enrolled at our Kigali location, through a combined financial aid package from CMU and the Government of Rwanda, the cost will be $16,000 with an additional 50% scholarship of $8,000 available to East African Community members.
