NUR Public Lecture and CMU-R Information Session

The National University of Rwanda's Faculty of Applied Science cordially invites you to a public lecture and information session. The Faculty of Applied Science is pleased to host Carnegie Mellon University in Rwanda for a public lecture and information session. The lecture will be delivered by CMU-R's Associate Director, Professor Michel Bézy, who will be discussing a trending topic in the ICT domain: Cloud Computing. Immediately following the lecture, CMU-R will have an information session to present its program offerings in graduate education and professional development.

Lecture Abstract: The New Nomads and Cloud Computing in Africa

The Nomads of the Sahara are called the "children of the clouds" and in Africa, clouds announce the rain that brings hope. A new type of cloud is bringing hope for the next generation of African innovators and unleashing their creativity: Cloud computing. The integration of mobile, broadband internet and cloud computing is opening new opportunities for SMEs, a key development sector for Africa.
