Center for 2D Materials and Devices for Energy-Efficient Computing
A joint CIT/MCS Center at Carnegie Mellon University, devoted to the development of two-dimensional (2D) materials and devices. The materials consist of thin layers, with thickness of one atomic layer. These materials are stacked on layer on top of the other, to form a "heterostructure". By careful selection of the materials in each layer, the electronic properties of the heterostructures can be designed to achieve specific performance in device and circuit applications.
