Web Analytics

Web analytics for CMS sites are provided through Urchin, a web-based software by Google. Urchin analyzes web traffic and provides reports to help you better organize and update web content. Request access to use Urchin Analytics. Email it-help@cmu.edu if you're interested in using other third-party analytics. 

Select a Report

Reports display once a profile (site) is selected. Use the information below to locate the report you want to use then apply a date range.

High or low traffic trends; provided as sessions, page views, hits, etc.

  • Sessions - Dashboards > Site Summary > see Total Visits

Apply Date Range

Follow the steps below to apply a date range for the selected report.

  1. Click the down arrow.
  2. Uncheck Compare to Past.
  3. Select Enter Range (calendar icon).
  4. Select a starting date from the first calendar.
  5. Select an end date from the second calendar.
  6. Click Apply Range.
