Cai's research interests include image understanding and ambient intelligence. He is Senior Systems Scientist of Cylab at Carnegie Mellon University. Andres Rodriguez, Research Assistant

Andres is a PhD student in ECE. His research interest include sensor fusion, image processing, and computer vision. He received his BS and MS in EE from BYU. His previous research include: using particle filters for object tracking onboard mini-UAVs, using optical flow sensors in UAVs to estimate wind without magnetometers, using UAV telemetry data to improve video compression speed and performance, and using genetic algorithms to design quantum cascade lasers. |
Snehal Gaikwad, Research Assistant

Snehal is Masters Student at School of Computer Science. His research work explores building modern optical and software tools to capture and distill a meaningful abstract of the visual experience. His research interest is Computational Photography, Computer Vision and interactive 3D graphics applications in Human Computer Interaction scenarios. He also likes to study Ambient intelligence and Humans behavior in different circumstances and environments.His previous research includes Machine Learning and Data Visualization at Systems Research Lab headed by Dr. Harrick Vin in TATA Research Development Center (TRDDC), research arm of TATA Consultancy Services. Snehal is National Level Cricket Player and holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree from Maharashtra Institute of Technology at Pune, India. After his BE he worked with IBM as Software Engineer. In his spare time, he enjoy playing guitar and travelling. |

Douglas Robertson, MD, Visiting Professor

Dr. Robertson is a radiologist at Jefferson Ragional Hospital. His research interests include design of advanced implantable devices, digital radiology, visualization and 3D modeling. He and Dr. Cai have been collaborated on the Digital Mummies for museums. |
Lizzee Solomon, Illustrator and Designer

Lizzee Solomon is currently a student at CMU studying fine art and design. She is also Art Editor of the Tartan (Carnegie Mellon's newspaper), and enjoys doing political cartoons and illustrations for various publications.
