Professor William E. Brown Memorial Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund open to students in all fields established by Linda Brown in honor of her husband, Professor William Brown, former head of the Department of Biological Sciences.

W. James Carr Jr., PhD, MCS 1950, Memorial Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will be a fitting tribute to Dr. Carr, who had a deep commitment to the field of physics.

Anju and Sanjay Chopra Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund open to students in all fields established by Anju and Sanjay Chopra, both alumni from the Tepper School of Business.

Natale A. Christiano (E '39) Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund open to students in all fields established by Natale Christiano, an engineering alumnus.

Janice and James Colker Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed fund will provide support to students with preference for art research or projects.

Wesley Cowan Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant will be used to provide grants for student-initiated research or creative projects to undergraduate students.

Loyd and Linda Crawley Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund open to students in all fields.

Arthur Vining Davis Foundations SURG Grants for Humanities Research
The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations have established an endowed fund at Carnegie Mellon to support students conducting research in the humanities. This includes "Research, scholarly, or artistic activities that lead to the production of new knowledge; to increased problem solving capabilities, including design and analysis; [and] to original critical or historical theory and interpretation" in disciplines such as English, History, Languages, and Philosophy.

eSite Entrepreneurship Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to student-initiated research or creative projects by undergraduates relating to entrepreneurship.

Dr. J. Paul Fugassi and Linda E. Monteverde Award
This endowed grant is awarded to a student conducting research in Mellon College of Science.

Stacy Rae Gross, A'00 Memorial Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to student-initiated research or creative projects by undergraduates with a preference for women concentrating in art either in CFA or through the Bachelor of Humanities and Arts in H&SS.

Hutchinson Family Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant was made to support students in the College of Engineering or School of Computer Science.

The fund will provide support for SURG and SURF awards.

James J. Huttner, M.D., Ph.D., S '74 Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to a student conducting research in the field of chemistry, or the disciplines that comprise the Mellon College of Science.

Inspire Wonder Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund provides support for student-initiated research, with preference for interdisciplinary research or cross-discipline research. 

Sean P. James CS'15 Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will enable students to pursue research goals in the computer science field.

Jennings Family Brave Companions Fund
Established by Larry Jennings (MCS'84, Tepper'87) and his family, this fund will allow students to travel to developing countries to study, research, and/or participate in service work. 

Martin Kanovsky, M.D., and Ellen Teller Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed fund is used to support students in the Health Professions Program in undergraduate research endeavors.

Kannan Srinivasan and Chandra Kannan Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed fund is open to students in all disciplines, donated by Kannan Srinivasan, faculty at the Tepper School of Business, and his family. 

Richard Kelson Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is to be used to support one undergraduate research fellowship annually, with preference for international or environmental focus.

Walter P. Ketterer Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund open to students in all fields.

Jennifer Kye Hyun Kim Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowded grant is to be used to support grants for student-initiated research for undergraduate students. 

Linda Daley Kosturko Student Research Fund
This endowed grant is to be used to support undergraduate research fellowships and grant for projects conducted by a single student, with preference for projects in the fields of biology and chemistry.

Frederick Kuo Jr. (E '69) Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to undergraduate engineering students.

Lathers Local #33 of Western Pennsylvania Undergraduate Research Fund
When awarding grants from this fund, preference is given to architecture students from Western Pennsylvania. The fund was established with donations from individual union members through the Carpenters District Council of Western Pennsylvania, AFL-CIO.

Barbara B. Lazarus Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund open to students in all fields.

Barbara Lazarus Undergraduate Research Fund for the Humanities
This endowed grant is awarded to student-initiated research or creative projects by undergraduates in history or the humanities.

William and Chloe Lee Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support to undergraduates in computational finance or computer science.   

Leisser Art Fund
This fund is awarded to projects in painting and sculpture. 

Lotus Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support for undergraduate research and creative inquiry to students preferable in the Information Systems program.  The fund was established by Qiang Shen and Yuefang He.

Barry B. and Janet M. Luokkala Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowded fund will provide support for student-initiated research.  The fund was established by Barry and Janet Luokkala in memory of Barry's parents, Taisto Luokkala and Joan Perry, who met on campus at Carnegie Tech in 1943.

Mahoney Platt Family Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support for student-initiated research in any discipline. 

Deirdre Maloney-Cutler Memorial Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to student-initiated research with preference for projects related to the humanities and social sciences.

Simon Markowski Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund is designed to give an undergraduate chemical engineering major a chance to perform research in the area of their choice. 

McBarron Family Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund is awarded to projects with preference for students entolled in the School of Computer Science.   

Thomas A. McConomy, E 1955, Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support for student-initiated undergraduate research with a perference for students in chemical engineering. 

McMullen Family Student Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support for research with preference for creative projects in the humanities and arts, business, cross-disciplinary inventions or projects for solving community-based problems. 

Robert W. Morris (E'81) Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund is awarded to projects with preference for engineering research.   

Naik Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund is awarded to projects with interdisciplinary collaboration.

Indira Nair Undergraduate Research Fund
Faculty, staff, friends and organizations have contributed to this fund in honor of Indira Nair, Carnegie Mellon's former Vice Provost for Education, who retired after 32 years of leadership in many roles at the university.  Trained as a physicist, Nair taught science in K-12 classrooms and later extended her passion for good science teaching to the university classroom. 

John V. Nelson (S '76) Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to a student conducting research in any discipline. The fund was established by John Nelson who received his degree in Chemistry in 1976.

Marie Colantoni Pechet Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is available for women in engineering, science or computer science participating in undergraduate research opportunities.

Antai Peng Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund is awarded to projects with preference students in the Dietrich College for Humanities and Social Sciences, whose studies invlove the advancement of women in the field of statistics and data science.   

Peng Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed gift is awarded to students in the School of Design.

Gordon E. Pike Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support for student-initiated research with a preference for collaborative research between students in the Mellon College of Science and the College of Engineering.

Poulomi Damany Undergraduate Research Fund
The purpose of this fund is to provide support for undergraduate research and creative inquiry at the University, including but not limited to competitive programs at the University such as Small Undergraduate Research Grants (SURG) and Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF), with a preference for students whose principal residence is outside the United States. 

Hugh F. Porter Jr. Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support for undergraduate research with preference for engineering research initiatives.   The Porter family is creating this legacy to encourage future engineering students as they develop technologies that will improve the world around us.

Procter & Gamble Technical Undergraduate Research Endowment
To be eligible for this fund, a student must be conducting research in Chemical Engineering, have completed the sophomore year, be a US Citizen or permanent visa holder, and be in the top third of the class. Recipients of awards from this fund will be eligible to interview for internships and employment with Procter & Gamble.

Sam Soo Pyo Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowded grant is to be used to support grants for student-initiated research for undergraduate students.

Jessie B. Ramey Alumni Undergraduate Research Fund
A director's discretionary fund established by URO Founding Director Jessie B. Ramey (HS '91, MA '04) and her husband, John D. Zimmerman (HS '88, MDes '98).

William H. and Frances S. Ryan Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund established by the trusts of Mr. and Mrs. Ryan, who also established Carnegie Mellon's "William H. and Frances S. Ryan Award for Meritorious Teaching". Students in all fields are eligible.

Sarcina Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed fund has been established to fund SURG and SURF awards in any discipline.

Harry M. (E '39, '50) and Lila O. (MM '45) Schadel, Jr. Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to undergraduate students conducting research projects, with preference for students in materials science and engineering.

Seiler/Bradbury Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund is awarded to projects with preference for mechanical engineering.   

James V. Sheridan (S 1933) Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support student-initiated research with a preference for chemistry majors or projects related to chemistry. 

Frederick Osborne Stebbins (E '22) Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund was established in the memory of Frederick Osborne Stebbins who received his degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Tech in 1922. The Stebbins fund will support research projects in electrical and computer engineering.

John C. and Suzanne R. Steven Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is to be used to support student-initiated research for undergraduate students in the College of Fine Arts. 

H. Guyford and Louise Stever Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund open to students in all fields established by former Carnegie Mellon president H. Guyford Stever and his wife.

Jonathan Stone Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund was established as a way to give back to Carnegie Mellon University and say thank you for the education he received and the excellence of the faculty that mentored him, both personally and professionally.  The will support research with preference for students in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Donald and Peggy Stitzenberg Undergraduate Research Fund
This is an unrestricted fund open to students in all fields established by Donald Stitzenberg, an MCS alumnus and Carnegie Mellon trustee.

Tam Undergraduate Research Endowed Fund
The purpose of this fund is to provide support for undergraduate research and creative inquiry through the SURG and SURF programs.

Hideto Tombabechi Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowded grant is to be used to support grants for student-initiated research for undergraduate students.

Toyota Ideas for Good at Carnegie Mellon University Fund
This fund will support research and education about ideas and technology that could improve people's lives. 

Jill Van Wart Hood Undergraduate Research Fund
Grants from this fund are restricted to women in Mellon College of Science. The fund was established by C. Donald and Lois Van Wart (MCS '55) in honor of their daughter who is a scientist.

William Wallach Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is to be used to support grants for student-initiated research for undergraduate students.  The gift was made in memory of William Wallach, father of Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, Stephanie Wallach, and their family.

William Y. Wang and Linda L. Lee Family Trust Endowed Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is to be used to support grants for students in the College of Engineering, specifically in Engineering and Public Policy or Civil and Environmental Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Weinsten Family Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund is to be used to support grants for student-initiated research for undergraduate students. 

Whalen Family Undergraduate Research Fund
This fund will provide support for student-initiated undergraduate research with a preference for students in chemical engineering.

Everard M. Williams Memorial Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to undergraduate students conducting research projects, with preference for students in electrical and computer engineering.

Robert K. Zurawin Undergraduate Research Fund
This endowed grant is awarded to undergraduate students conducting research projects, with preference for projects in biotechnology.
