Information for Advisors/Administrators

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholar Deveopment encourages students to present their research at appropriate academic conferences. We feel that this is a great way for students to learn more about the academic world, and their field in particular, and to get practice presenting their research to an interested audience.

Advisors login.

Advisors:

We will provide support up to $250 per student to offset of the cost of attending a conference, including conference registration, accommodations, travel expenses, and food. Students must register for a Presentation Award application and submit it along with a brief description of the research being presented, an official acknowledgement from the conference that their research has been accepted for presentation, and a letter of support from their faculty advisor.

Disbursement of Funds:

Presentation Award funds are transferred to the advisor's account and dispersed through the advisor's department. We encourage advisors to help offset conference expenses that are not covered by the Presentation Award. We ask that the advisor and appropriate departmental staff make students aware of departmental and university proceedures for processing travel expenses.
