Information for Advisors and Administrators

All undergraduates who have engaged in research are invited to present their results at the Undergraduate Research Symposium, which is held every year on spring reading day. All students who have received a SURG grant, a Summer Research Fellowship, or a Presentation Award are required to present their research at the symposium. Many of the departmental honors programs also require that their students present.

Advisors login.

Students register on-line through the student pages. They must submit an abstract along with their registration. These abstracts are then e-mailed to faculty advisors for their approval. Students can choose to present their research as a poster, an oral presentation, a demonstration, or a performance. We will do our best to accomodate audio-visual and computer needs.

There are a number of competitions sponsored by honor societies, corporations, and organizations in which students can participate. Details on these competitions are also available through our web site.

If you have any questions about the symposium or any other program of the Undergraduate Research Office, please contact Stephanie Wallach, the Director, at 8-5702 or, Jen Weidenhof, Assistant to the Director, 8-5702.
