Monday, October 10, 2011

4:30 pm, Gregg Hall, Porter Hall 100

There will be a reception at 4:30 followed by a panel discussion beginning at 5:00 pm.

In conjunction with the Peace Corps’ 50th anniversary, the U.S. State Department, and Global Pittsburgh are bringing five international public health professionals to Pittsburgh to discuss their collaborations with Peace Corp volunteers in the struggle to control AIDS, malaria, and other public health challenges.

The panel participants, all of whom have considerable experience working on community-level public health projects, include:

Ms. Mmammotsi Setho MOSIENYANE, a District AIDS Coordinator, Botswana;
Ms. Awa JATTA, Assistant Secretary, Mutapola Voices, The Gambia;
Mr. Anand HARRILALL, Development Officer, Guyana;
Rev. Monday Ezra MUSOBOZI, Director, Kitojo Integrated Development Association, Uganda;
Mr. Morris Willie AMOS, Acting Director, Southern Health, Vanuatu.

This will be a great opportunity for former Peace Corp volunteers to share their own insights as well as a chance for people considering the Peace Corp to learn about volunteer opportunities.

Sponsored by the Global Studies major within the Department of History at Carnegie Mellon University.
