Public Diplomacy and Conflict Mediation – The Case of the Congo

Student Roundtable - A Conversation with Dr. Faida Mitifu

Amb. Faida Mitifu, Wednesday, November 4, 2009

4:30pm, Connan Room, University Center

Dr. Faida M. Mitifu is the Ambassador of Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United States and one of only a handful of female Ambassadors who are Chiefs of Diplomatic Missions in the U.S. Amb. Mitifu has testified before the Congressional Subcommittee on Africa on the crisis in the Great Lakes region and frequently offers lectures and participates in television interviews to discuss the Congo and its post-conflict recovery. CMU Faculty member Dr. Jendayi Frazer is hosting a special roundtable for students interested in learning about the Congo, and the work of a diplomat representing a country in conflict and educating policymakers about its post-conflict development.
