Mr. Peduto, Councilman for the city's 8th district in the East End, will be discussing his views on the city's economy now and his vision for its future.  Peduto will put special emphasis on how the city and the community can generate jobs for people long left out of public and private revitalization efforts, particularly the under-educated and minority workers and people laid off in their 50s or 60s.  Admittance is free, and seating will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis, but pre-registration is requested at: http://pittsburghmovingforward.org/forum-for-economic-development-events/ or by calling 412-330-8484. Reception to follow at 4:30pm. Sponsored by The Forum for Economic Development, Inc. (FED) and the Center for African American Urban Studies and the Economy (CAUSE).

The Michael F. Moran Speaker Series, a set of talks funded by the Forum for Economic Development, Inc., is designed to promote meaningful discussion and further action on the sources of long-term unemployment in Pittsburgh and how to aid the most hard-hit groups in Southwestern Pennsylvania.  For more information on FED, see: http://pittsburghmovingforward.org/.
