Employee Reporting Obligations
Any "responsible employee" who is informed about an allegation of sexual misconduct impacting a Carnegie Mellon community member is required to notify the Title IX Office by email (email@example.com) or telephone (412-268-7125).

Definition of "Responsible Employee"
The US Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights defines a "responsible employee" as "any employee:
 who has the authority to take action to redress sexual violence;
 who has been given the duty of reporting incidents of sexual violence or any other misconduct by students to the Title IX coordinator or other appropriate school designee; or
 whom a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty." See, OCR, Questions and Answers about Title IX and Sexual Violence (April 29, 2014).
Exempt Employees (Confidential Reporters)
Professionals employed by University Health Services and Counseling and Psychological Services are not "responsible employees" and are deemed to be confidential reporters.
