CMU STUDENT SEEKS HELP FOR TWO STARTUP PROJECTS

CMU undergraduate student Max Kiefer, is seeking a mechanical engineer, ECE, Computer Vision, or Computer Science (experience in programming sensors) masters or Ph.D. student to help with his two startup projects: Siren and Kiefer Robotics.

Siren
is a mini robot that is Arduino powered and will be used as an agricultural product. The main aim of Siren is to attract insects and pests that are harming crop growth by playing a certain tune at a specific sound intensity that will draw the insects to the robot. The robot then kills the insects and continues to patrol in a pre-programmed location.

Kiefer Robotics is a mobile robot that can navigate through a landfill and select certain garbage materials to be incinerated inside of the robot. The goal is to eliminate landfills completely by creating one robot per garbage material (one for biomass, one for paper and one for wood).

Contact Max Kiefer mkiefer@andrew.cmu.edu for more information.
