CMU startup, NetBeez, Inc., founded by alumni Stefano Gridelli,
Panos Vouzis and Panickos Neophytou, is a Pittsburgh-based startup that is developing a revolutionary enterprise network monitoring solution by developing a tool that enables IT staff to provide the best service to network users.

EEme, a CMU startup founded by alumnus Enes Hosgor, is a machine learning company that provides a proven, non-intrusive and scalable "virtual home energy audit" platform that converts big data into actionable, appliance-level energy insights.

EEme is seeking an embedded systems software engineer and a machine learning expert/data scientist to lead its product transformation efforts from a cloud-based solution into an embedded product. This product is slated to go online in the fall of 2017.

The interns will have a unique opportunity to work with world-class, domain experts to make an immediate impact in the smart energy space. Candidates for both positions should have a solid background in C. Python knowledge. Depending on mutual interest, the internships can lead to a permanent role.

The Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE challenges teams from around the world to leverage technology that empowers communities to rapidly respond to threats against any of its members.

The Challenge:

The Anu and Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE will award $1K to the most accurate and usable technology solution which is able to:

Trigger location-accurate alerts in emergency situations even in low-connectivity scenarios.

Transmit alerts to a network of responders, rapidly providing a response to the user within 90 seconds that help is on its way.

Exhibit a novel approach to building or combining existing and/or emerging technologies to better connect users and responders under $40 per year.
