The Carnegie Mellon Undergraduate Student Senate is composed of student-elected representatives that represent the unique and diverse culture of Carnegie Mellon. Elected representatives from each Carnegie Mellon college meet on a weekly basis to discuss rising issues on our campus.

The Undergraduate Student Senate is the undergraduate component of Carnegie Mellon's Student Government Legislative Branch. You are welcome to join us at our weekly general body meetings, which are held every Thursday at 5pm in Margaret Morrison, Breed Hall.

Can I attend regular body meetings?
Yes, Undergraduate Student Senate meetings are open to the public, including Students, Faculty, and Staff of the University.

I have an initiative. Who can I talk to?
First, determine which Committee your issue falls under, then contact the Committee Chair. Alternatively, you can contact the Senate Chair directly and he/she will forward the request appropriately.

What does Student Senate do?
Senate is responsible for a number of initiatives on campus, including adding a printer in Doherty Hall, providing free food at sporting events, funding projects like Campus Readership and Arts Pass, resolving student conflicts with administration, and providing special allocation funding to student organizations.
