High School Conference at Carnegie Mellon

If you are a high school Model United Nations' advisor or a student looking to participate and compete in our annual Carnegie Mellon Model United Nations Conference, then you are in the right place! Please mark your calendars, our conference will be held this year from February 17-19, 2012.

Our welcome letter (.pdf) provides additional details about the conference. Please also download, complete and return the delegation registration form (.doc) and delegate registration form (.doc).

Registration per Delegation (per school) is $60, due by December 19, 2011. (5 member minimum per delegation is preferred; if there are fewer members, please contact Emily Half for exceptions and/or more information).  Registration per Delegate (per student) is $35.

For years, Carnegie Mellon University has offered one of the most competitive conferences at both the high school and the collegiate level. In 2011-2012, with the support of our advisory board, we plan on continuing this legacy by creating a competition-friendly environment for high school competitors. We will encourage participants to research, learn, adapt, negotiate, and debate in a professional manner, similar to the real United Nations.

This year's competition will be opened to all high schools that are able to provide their own transportation to and from their respective districts. Please note that lodging (for school not local to the Pittsburgh area) must be reserved by the individual school prior to their attendance. Carnegie Mellon University will not reserve hotel rooms for schools, but our Pittsburgh area hotel list (.pdf) can provide suggestions as to which would be the best for your convenience.
